IMPORTANT:

When you submit your registration please wait until you are redirected to the success page. If you do not wait, your registration might not come through to us, and your Sighthounds will not count towards the global total.

As the walkers are so keen to know their figures, (walk, country and global), we would really appreciate it if you could pass your walk figures to your Co-Ordinator as soon as possible (before 6pm your local time).  This takes time for our volunteers to get together and we would love to announce the figures to all as soon as possible.   We only need ONE number.  This is the TOTAL number of Sighthounds who attended your walk

EG:  12 Sighthounds

Please do not give us a list of breeds and quantities as many times this doesn’t match the total number of sighthounds in the email and is time consuming to resolve.

We had 16,562 hounds in 2025, it would be great to see you all again!

Weather conditions vary around the world, please feel free to start at an appropriate time for welfare of the dogs. i.e. Earlier before the paths / sidewalks warm up etc.

Usually an hour but please keep in mind the temperature for the hounds.

This walk will appear on our map and made public so other walkers may join you.

This walk will not appear on the map for the public to see and attend. Your hounds will still count towards the global total.

Have you got permission from land owner and insurance (if required)?

If permission or insurance is required to walk at your chosen location, you MUST have obtained this before completing your registration. Your walk MUST follow the GGGW rules: ALL dogs must be on leads at ALL times. Dogs MUST be muzzled if required. Owners MUST clear up the poop. Owners MUST be respectful to the general public on the walk. Walk Leader MUST communicate the walk rules to the walkers before the walk commences. By registering a walk, I confirm that I understand the GGGW rules. GGGW accept no responsibility or liability for your walk / walkers or the general public. Any Sighthound owner is welcome to attend.
All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
Ensure all walkers act responsibly (poo picking, muzzles, etc).
GGGW event is free.

If your walk is an afternoon / evening walk, please get them in to your coordinator immediately after the walk so we can update the walkers with the Global total asap. If this is difficult for you, please let us know asap and we will be able to help you and offer solutions.
